Summer 2007

Hi guys,
It's been awhile since I've posted. We're home from our summer adventures and back to real life. I'm working as a hydrologist intern at the National Weather Service, and Jared is working on his MBA at Westminster and getting a business started. He travels to China next month with his school, but I am home to stay for awhile.

I thought I'd post a few photo highlights of our trips to Europe and Southeast Asia this summer. Sorry if this is a really long post, but I figure I haven't posted in so long, I've earned it!! (: (:

We began our adventure in Europe with my family. We visited Italy, Switzerland, France, and Austria. We then flew home for a week, and then went back to Southeast Asia, where we traveled through Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, and Vietnam. Here are some pictures:

Us at the Grand Canal in Venice
Bayeux, France (did I spell that right Christine?)
Hiking in Switzerland
Riding scooters down a mountain in Austria
Hiking through a rice paddy in northern Thailand
Arc d'Triomphe........Laos??? The US gave concrete to Laos to build an airport, but instead built this monument. Laos was occupied by the French for many years, and the influence is still obvious.

Outside of Angkor Wat, Cambodia. One of the most spectacular things I have ever seen.
Inside the CuChi tunnels in southern Vietnam. The Vietcong spend the whole duration of the Vietnam war living and fighting from these tunnels. And they weren't even this big! They made this one bigger for tourists to walk through. Crazy!!!!Northern and Southern Vietnam still feel like 2 different countries. Saigon, in the south, has 10 million people driving 4 million scooters. Hanoi, above, is the capitol of the north and is clean and quiet. We are standing in the center of the city, which is a huge lake! The city has a midnight curfew. At 12, police drive around with horns making everybody go inside. It was so wierd!!We ended our trip relaxing in Southern Thailand. It was so nice!!! Jared's sister, Alisa, was along for the adventure
climbing above the ocean in southern Thailand
And last, but not least, the wonderful, sanitary, toilets of Southeast Asia. By the end of the trip, we were thrilled if a toilet had toilet paper available. If there was soap and water, we were truly ecstatic!

So, I hope I haven't bored you all with our pictures. We don't have our own blog yet, but I am working on writing us a website, hosenfelds.com, so hopefully that will be up soon!!

I hope that everybody is doing well!! I love reading about everybody's lives, so keep posting!!

Big Belly

I'm just going to vent for a few seconds here...so if you don't want to hear it, don't read this!! Ha ha! I just have to say that with two weeks away from my big day (or baby's big day I guess) I am about to the point where I am a little tired of the belly comments!! It's totally fine from a friend or family members, but from random people or people at work who see me every day, it's getting to be OLD!

For example, yesterday this girl at my work (who makes a comment about my belly pretty much every time she sees me) says, "Your shirts are getting tighter and tighter with your cute belly!!" I'm sorry, I know that is supposed to be a compliment (?) but seriously! I am completely aware of it, no need to bring it up when you tell me EVERY day!! (By the way, my response to her was I looked at her and just laughed. Then I said thanks, very sarcastically! I know, I'm such a brat...it was a bad moment for me, but really she comments on it at least twice a day and I wanted her to know my true feelings...hopefully she got it!)

The thing is, I know people are trying to be nice and maybe they really do think I look cute, but I'm just kind of done with it! I'm sure those of you who have kids know what I'm talking about and maybe it's just because I'm almost to the point where I'm totally done with this pregnancy!

In conclusion, you can comment about my belly if you see me in the next two weeks...you are all friends, so it's different. And if I've ever commented to you about your pregnant belly and you wanted to slap me, I can now say that I am very sorry and I think I am more aware of comments to say or not to say to any pregnant woman from now on!! :) Thanks for letting me vent!!

Question!

I was wondering if anyone had any contact info for Megan Fairchild. I have tried to email her a couple times a year for like the last three years and I never get a response. So either she has a new e-mail address, or she just does not want to stay in touch with me. If anyone knows anything please let me know. Thanks!

Jane

My HOUSE

So my front door was finally painted and I finally remembered to take my camera when we went to clean (again) last night. So here it is...red door and all!!! I was really nervous about the red door at first, but I think it looks really good...so I was very happy about that! We are getting our final inspection today and then we can see if we can move in this weekend. If we don't pass we'll have to wait until we can get everything done that we need to! So I'll send another update once we are all moved in and stuff! But here's the latest of what I've been up to the past 6 months or so!!!!! :)

I am finally going to join the blogging world!

I am going to try this out! I did not realize that this was the same kind of thing that I set up for Stu and I in June, until I looked at Christine's web site and saw Hillcrest friends as one of her little favorites. There, that is the story. I have spent the last two hours trying to catch up on everyones lives. I did not realize how many people have houses. I want one! My favorite blog was Nicoles about Josh Groban. Yes, the concert was amazing, and I did get to meet him. That was pretty exciting. I also love all the pictures. Everyones kids are soooooo cute. It makes me want one, but I don't have time for that right now.
The only thing new in my life is that I got a Pedal harp. That the kind of harp that you see in like the symphony or something. It lives at the Curtis's because I don't have room in my apartment, so I go there a lot to play it.
Other than that I am just going to school, doing clinicals and working. I only have 8 more months until I am done with the Radiology technologist program. Yahoo!
That is it! Sorry it took so long.

P.S. Stu and I have one of these Blogspots. The address is stuartandjane.blogspot.com I would not recommend visiting it, because I don't update it, (suprise, suprise) but I just thought I would let you all know.

It's a GIRL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We had our ultrasound yesterday and we are having a little girl!!! It was so neat to finally see this little thing that is living inside of me. Her little hands and feet are so cute. The tech said that everything looks really good and she looks really healthy. That is always good to hear. We plan on naming her Haylee Laree Bird. (Laree is my grandma's name). Anyways, we are very excited for February to roll around. Good luck to everyone else who is expecting.

Layers no longer

So I'm sad to say that I resigned as a distributor for Layers :( It was a tough decision, but I feel it is best. Primarily I'm stopping because for all the work that I put in (which honestly isn't that much, but it's enough!), I didn't feel like the profit was quite worth it. The way it works is that with each new line that comes out, you pay for the sample line up front and then you have to make the money back through parties. So at the end of the season, you are trying to get rid of samples and hope that you've made enough commission to cover your sample line purchase. So when you only have a few parties a month, sometimes that can be hard and you're just happy if you come out even!! Plus with the baby coming, I will have more limited time (mostly in the beginning) and money!! I still love Layers and I will continue to buy their stuff, I just won't be in charge of selling it and worrying about if I'm going to come out even after the season ends!

I just barely sent my letter in, but I can tell you that their new fall line will be out October 1st. So if you are a Layers fan and have been waiting to know when they will release their fall line, that's when! I have seen their fall classic tee colors and a cute turtleneck so far and I think this week I will get a pdf version of the fall catalog. So for now I will have some info on the fall line, but soon I will be cut off! If you're interested in seeing the pdf catalog, let me know and I believe I can email it to you once I get it!

GO UTES

For those that don't look at my blog I had to write this for ALL to see! I kind of wanted to brag to the BYU fans too!!! HA! I'm mean I know but I have to be proud of my Utes for beating UCLA when BYU couldn't handle the task (and I was happy to see BYU lose to Tulsa this weekend...not that I don't like BYU, I just wanted them to have the same record that the U has to keep things even)! Now I just hope that the U can keep this momentum up long enough to beat BYU on Thanksgiving weekend! :) We'll be at that game cheering as loud as we can!

Volleyball

Hey guys I was just wondering if anyone wanted to play sand volleyball on saturday night. I know there are football games but we will do it after for the mens sanity! If you want to play just let me know so that I can see if there will be enough people. We do have lights so it is ok if we play a little later in the evening. Let me know what you think
Kati

I NEED a Maid....

So last night Bryce and I had to de-dust our house! We are doing our own cleaning to try and save some money...so last night cleaning is what we did! We had to scrub out tubs, counter tops, sinks, etc. We had to wipe down ALL walls, ceilings, etc. We had to vacuum the floor, then sweep it, then vacuum again to get as much dust out as we could! I still think there is a layer of dust in that thing! What I realized last night though is that I have to clean that house now. I mean it's one thing to clean a house the size of an apartment...that's super easy! But when you have an actual HOUSE you live in...it ain't easy! So if anyone wants to come clean my house for me (no pay is my preference :) ) then you are more than welcome to!!!! We are getting carpet today. I don't know how long that takes but hopefully it goes quick! I believe we are trying to get our final inspection done next Monday and if we pass we can move in next weekend! CRAZY! Hopefully it all works out though because I'm ready to be in something I've been working on for about 9 months now. I don't have any new pictures. Every time we go over there I forget my camera. I guess I'll just wait until it's done though. That stupid front door still isn't painted and I'm still waiting to see how my color will match the rest of my house. My door will be red...so let's hope it looks good! Anyways... (oh...and I really don't need a maid...I promise I'm not that lazy, but it will take much more time than what I'm used to)

Just Another Pic

Well, I don't feel like I have much to say... Things have been hectic for us lately, but there is not a lot to share! Adam has started his last semester at BYU. Colt can rollover once in a while, and he is really learning to reach for things. We had a fun holiday weekend enjoying a pool party, BBQ, and football game. Now that Adam travels to Provo for class, Colt and I have more time on our hands to just hang. Give us a call if you're bored! We like our new place and think we'll be here till next summer or fall.

That's about it! I hope to see a bunch of you at the reunion. Here is the latest picture of Colt that I will be using on his baby announcements. (Yes, I'm still planning to send out announcements now that he's almost 4 months old! Is that tacky or what?! They're only going out to family, though, so don't be bummed when you don't get one.)

Thursday, August 30, 2007

One 3 year old, one 2 year old, and two 15 month old kids. We watched his sisters kids for a week while they were in Hawaii.

Shelby and Blake sharing just like we tell them to. This first picture is "The Picking of the Booger" and the next picture is "The Passing of the Booger" It was great!

This is Hallie and Tyler thankfully they
only shared their toys.
So you know how when kids get really upset they scream so hard that it takes them a while before they breathe again. Well Shelby takes it one step further and decides to turn blue, get all stiff, have her eyes roll back in her head, go limp, pass out, and then she decides to breathe again. All the while I'm freaking out because somebody else's kid is not breathing in my arms. All of this lasted for about a minute and a half then the ambulence, cop car, and a fire truck show up, and of course she's fine by then. This was probably the scariest moment so far. My heart still hurts when I think about it. Apparently she is one of the 10% of kids who do this, they eventually grow out of it. Her mom said she use to do it everyday for about a month and thought she was over it. I know better!
Anyway on the up side I'm pregnant! Yea! I'm due April 20 and since we have one of each, if I can do it, we might make it a surprise!
I'm glad everyone's doing great!

Josh Groban

Last night I went with my mom and sisters to the Josh Groban concert at the ESA (Energy Solutions Arena...I really wish it were still the Delta Center...so much easier to say)!!! It was such an awesome concert! We were lucky to be in a suite and we sat in the center, slightly to the right. The seats were great, there was dinner and treats, and a bathroom all in the suite! All things a pregnant girl like me could ever want! :) So I tried to take a picture and would have posted it here, but the flash was having issues, meaning we all looked like white ghosts! Which I probably look like right now with my office tan anyway, but you get the picture ;)

Anyway, it goes without saying that Josh Groban is EXTREMELY talented! His voice is absolutely amazing. But he also plays the piano and the drums and is pretty dang good at both of those too! Why is it that some people seem to get all the talent?! Anyway, he is only 26 which still amazes me and he was such a great entertainer. He was so funny and just a down-to-earth type of a guy. Go see him if you ever get a chance! You will not be sorry! And it also doesn't hurt that he happens to be pretty dang good looking too (yes, I am happily married, but I still have eyes!)!! That's the latest from me!

Hey guys how is everyone!! Holy Cow!! I cannot believe how busy everyone is traveling around and such!! Congrats on all of the graduations, weddings, babies and trips!! I am so happy for everyone and so glad that everyone is doing so well. We have just been hanging out, I have been busy with a few shoots, just enough to keep things interesting. Drew and I mostly play, here is one of our fun afternoons outside. We should hopefully be moving back into our house the first week in October. I can't wait!! This year has been crazy and hard and I can't wait to finally be settled and move on. Drew and I are always looking for buddies to play with, so give us a call if anyone is planning anything. I hope that no one feels like I am barging in on this blog. I know that I haven't been close to everyone for a few years, but I have always considered you guys friends. You don't know how many times I have looked up to each of you. Through out life I never really felt like I fit in anywhere, so I guess I just hopped around trying to find my spot and ended up being a home-body. I guess that's what I like most about having my own family. I know where I fit in. I am a wife and a mom, what I had always wanted to be.

Thank you everyone for coming to the Barbecue. It was great to see everyone. I really have appreciated your friendship. Europe

Well...I'm finally posting about our Europe trip. I'm quite slow since we've been busy and Bryce steals our computer every night to work on his school project! We went to Europe for 16 days in July and had a blast! We started in Paris and went throughout France (Paris, Versailles, Marseilles, Cannes), Italy (Pisa, Florence, Venice), Austria, a bit of Germany (Munich) and Swizterland (and the tiny countries of Monacco and Lichtenstein)! Seeing the Eiffel Tower was probably the coolest for me since I've wanted to go there since I was a wee child. So it was exciting! My favorite place in France though was a little mountain called Mont St. Michelle. It was amazing. There's a church at the very top of the mountain and the base of the mountain is a little town with shops. When the tide is high it becomes an island (except the road leading into it).The most humbling places were D-Day beaches (the huge cemetery) and the concentration camp in Dachau. That is something I will never forget. It was just insane to see the pictures and movie of what happened there. We saw lots and lots of old churches (amazing architecture and art), museums (lots and lots of art) and definitely got a feel for the difference in culture. We went to Venice which was a crazy city...but very neat at the same time. No gondola ride...seeing that they cost a boatload! :) We just took the huge water taxi instead! (We also sweated like crazy in Venice...it was SUPER hot there.)
We stayed in Austria for a week and I loved it there. It was just small towns that were gorgeous. Fun houses with flowers on every balcony and very peaceful. It was quiet in summer but I can just imagine how hopping it gets in the winter with all the ski resorts. Switzerland was the most expensive place. Bryce got a big mac value meal and it cost him $10 for his alone!!!!! We felt quite lucky that we were able to go though. Bryce is now doing rotations until December so there will be no more trips for us (besides our 2 year anniversary...2 football games in 2 days!!!!!) :) Our house is about a month from being done and we are getting excited. I'll have to post a picture of that some other time though (once the front door is painted). Well it's always exciting to read about everyone's news and lives! I'm glad people are still posting and sharing everything! Hope everyone is doing great! :)

Wisconsin

I just got back from Oshkosh, Wisconsin yesterday at 2 am. (Yes, there really is a place called Oshkosh, and it really is where Oshkosh B'Gosh was started)
I was there for a week for work. We were at Air Venture, the biggest air show in the world. We marketed the UVSC Aviation program in a booth along with like 500 other vendors. There were 4 airplane hangars full of booths. The rest of the airport grounds were full of tents with other vendors. All of the grass was covered with private airplanes where die hard pilots were camped out in tents for the week. I've never seen anything like it. It looked like a parking lot but of airplanes. There was an amazing air show every day! It was amazing!
I've never been away from Kris for that long, so I was so excited to come home yesterday. We've been married a year this Friday. Can you believe it?
My parents got our 5 year reunion post card in the mail today. It's crazy we've been graduated for that long. I'm glad we've got the blog to help us keep in touch. Hopefully I'll see you all on September 8th, if not before. Chao! -Jacee

A DAY AT THE ZOO!

Hallie with her studly 2nd cousin, looking at the HUGE python!

Blake on daddy's shoulders. His favorite animal was an elephant, I think, I have to guess cuz he only grunts and points for what he wants.

Measuring up to our ancestors! I don't know the little one is kind of hairy!

Well, we have finally moved into our home! It has been so nice for the kids to have some room to run. Not too much to report, excpt after our trip to St. George Blake decided to get the croup. If that wasn't bad enough he thought he'd share it with the family. I guess Hallie took one too many toys from him so she got pneumonia. It was crazy! That's all over now and life is great!

Anyway, I'm glad to hear of new families, and babies on the way! Congrats to everyone!

what's new

Hi everyone, it's great to see all those cute families as always! The only new family member we have here is a kitty named Abby. We got her at Salt Lake County animal services. She was so skinny but now she's plumped up to a healthy weight. She is the sweetest little girl and always cuddles and gives kisses.

So we are all settled in our first home. I don't have any pictures of it yet though. It's a three-bedroom, one and a half bath. It's really cute, we think, and we love being here so far. Just so everyone knows for invitations, etc., our new address is:

6615 S 700 W
Murray, UT 84123

So what else is new? Well, Adam is looking for a new job, so if anyone has connections to a job in project management or process development, let me know. I've just been working mostly on editing and transcribing, and a little bit of interviewing on the side still. I'm editing two books right now, one is an autobiography for an actress and one is an LDS novel. I'm also transcribing interviews of these two Sherpas that live in Salt Lake, and the University Press is going to make a book out of it. Also, my boss and I are moving our office up to a really pretty little place in Fort Douglas. So that's it for me. Hope everybody is doing great! Love you all!

Hello Everyone

Hi Guys!!! It is so great to hear about you and your cute families. Christine told me about the blog and I wanted to be apart of it. Nick and I are back from Florida and are living in Draper until we can move back into our home in Herriman. We leased it out when we moved and I am dieing to get back 'home' and finally be settled. We have a ten month old son, Drew, who is so much fun. Everyday I am just amazed that I am a mom and able to raise him. Nick is working and starting his own business with his brother. I am still doing photography on the side which is nice because I can get some me time when I do it. Here is Drew at 7 months and then all of us at a family trip in Zions. Other than that, things are pretty mellow. I would love to have a play date if any one is interested. I think that it is so much more fun for the kids to play with other kids, and it helps the moms to. Hope that everyone is doing good!! Janessa

Farewell BBQ

Hello friends! Well, Seth and I are going to be leaving for the East coast soon and have decided to have a little Farewell BBQ. We want to see everyone, and their babies/husbands/fiancees, before we leave. It is going to be at my parent's home in Sandy on August 8th, 2007 at 6:00pm. Kath, I know that you can't make it, but I figure that your honeymoon will be better! If you can come please email me so that I know who to expect and also if you could bring something that would be great. I will provide the meat and if others could bring the munchies I would appreciate it. Hopefully you all can come! I can't wait to see everyone.

Nursing Covers

Hey to all you Moms and Moms-to-be:

Adam's cousin just started a business called "My Modest Mom." She makes nursing covers (and socks and headbands for girls). I have one of the nursing covers, and it is pretty nifty. It is lightweight (better than a blanket in the summer), it loops around your neck (so the baby can't pull it off or it can't slip off your shoulder), and it has wiring in the neckline so that you can look down at your baby while you're nursing. Think of it as a giant tent. :) It is awesome to be able to nurse in public but to stay covered this way. The disadvantages - I think - are that it's hard to manuever your babe in and out of the cover to begin and end nursing and to burp (that is, without exposing yourself, but it mostly just takes practice), the cover is bound to get dirty, and you might have to iron it after washing to keep it not-wrinkled (I haven't gotten to this point with mine yet, so I'm not sure).

I'm not really trying to put in a plug for Adam's cousin. It's more like I think some of you might be interested. These covers are getting pretty trendy; I don't know where else they are sold, but I've been seeing them on quite a few women. They are also a great gift idea. Check out www.mymodestmom.com for more info!

More Pics

Hey guys now that I have kinda figured out how to do things everyone will probably get sick of me.
We just went camping and Drew couldn't get enough of the dirt and sticks, he was in heaven!

He likes boxes more than the toys! Drew just chillin

Drew was quite the little hiker, he wanted to walk
the whole time!
Anyhow we had a wonderful time camping, it was so relaxing. Drew loved it, there is nothing better for him than being outside all day long.

AND... We're Moving (+ More Colt)

Well, Friends, we are moving. Again. But this is the best move yet! We will be living in a basement in Draper. Adam's aunt and uncle offered us their very large basement for ridiculously cheap -- full kitchen, fully furnished, nice neighborhood, nice backyard, separate access, separate garage, etcera, etcera, etcera. We were just about to get into a bigger apartment in our current complex, but this new offer was too great to pass up. We are really excited about it! I plan to take Colt on many walks, on visits to the park, and to play with Brooke and her kiddies. It will be so fun. And this is the perfect way for us to live while Adam continues to build his business. (Hmm, have I ever mentioned that Adam started his own business? He does commercial land development with three other partners; it's been going for just a few months now.)

We blessed Colt on Sunday in Wyoming. It was a wonderful weekend. We had a blast at the Fourth of July parade and rodeo. Almost my entire family made the trip. Colt looked SO handsome, and the blessing was really special. I love my husband and little babe!! Times like these I don't think I could get any happier.

Here are some new pics...

More Fun News

Well, the fun news is that I am pregnant! We are so excited. The baby will be due in February. It doesn't really feel real yet. I can't wait for my first appointment to hear the baby's heart beat. Tyler is currently looking around for other plumbing companies to see if we can get benefits. That way, I can hopefully stay home with the baby. Anyway, I hope everyone is doing well. C-ya!

Layers Discount!!

I am putting in a plug for Layers, as I do from time to time! I know this is short notice, but if you make an order now through Sunday through me, you'll get a 10% discount off your entire order! So give me a call or email me in the next few days if you are interested in ordering anything.

Also, they have new summer styles in! If you go to www.layersclothing.com, you can look at the pictures on their main page to see some of the new styles! You will notice little arrows pointing right and left, just click on those to see the next pictures. I think they have some really, really cute things! There are 4 new ones that you can even order now and get the 10% off if you call me and order by Sunday (the 10% is through a stylist only fyi, so you can't get the discount if you order online). So in case you see some cute ones and want to know which ones are available now to order with the 10% discount before Sunday, they are images 4, 5, 7, and 10 if you go through the pictures on the main page.

With the new summer stuff, there is plenty of time for a party! Kati did a party at the beginning of June, but Karen was the only one of our friends who came :( so we could definitely have a summer one and Karen is the only one who could say she's already been to one!! lol :) Anyway, if anyone is interested in hosting one, you can earn free shirts, so give me a call! Also, let me know of any questions.

Hey everyone! It has been a long time since I have been on so I am a little suprised with some of the fun news! It is so good to see what everyone is up to.
Well I am not up to much, it is after all 1:00 am which is a very unusual time for me to be up but I wanted to check emails without Drew helping out so here I am.
We haven't been up to much no wild trips like everyone else we just hangout. We did however go on a cattle drive which was suprisingly fun. Drew has been saying yehaw ever since it is so cute. He loved the horses, he fell asleep riding a horse (must have been so exciting)!
Besides that we are just good, andy is chugging along in lab like usual and Drew and I spend lots of time at my parents. I know we are so exciting!!!
Well I love you all and will hopefully be on a bit more but I won't promise a thing!
Oh I did finally figure out how to add pictures so I put a few in of drew of course and since I haven't been on forever there are some old pics too.

Vail, Colorado

Hey everyone! Justin and I just got back from a week long trip to Vail, Colorado. We went with my family and stayed in the Marriott timeshare condos. We had a great time! Vail is absolutely beautiful, very green with lots of trees. There is so much to do there. Some of the things we did were go swimming, shopping, the boys golfed, we went to Denver for a day and saw the Colorado Rockies play the Yankees, went to a rodeo, saw the Betty Ford Gardens, went to an outdoor market, and relaxed!

Our new car!

Well, we finally found a car that suits our needs and our budget! We are really excited and the Lord has really blessed us! It is a 2005 Toyota Corolla with 31,000 miles on it. Here is a pic

Sawadee Kaa (hello) from Thailand!!

Hi guys,
So, I'm writing this from an internet cafe in Chiang Mai, in northern thailand. Everything on this website is in Thai, so I had to click on every link to figure out how to read the blog, and then how to post!
Today we got back from a trek in the Jungle. It was a three day, two night deal, where we walked a few hours each day and then slept in a village each night. It was so interesting! The villages we stayed in don't really have access roads, and so the only outsiders they see are trekkers. the first night we stayed in a village that was REALLY poor. the kids don't usually have a teacher, because the teacher has to hike in and stay for weeks. It was so incredible to see how they lived!! We all stayed in a bamboo hut ( there were 9 people on the trek), and all night long we could hear dogs fighting, roosters crowing, pigs squealing, and cows mooing. Not exactly a five star hotel! (:

It was such an amazing experience! To end the trek, we took an elephant ride. It was so cool! I got to sit on its neck. I couldn't believe how rough the skin was and how coarse the hair was!

In a few days we'll leave thailand for Northern Laos. We'll travel down Laos by bus, then into cambodia, visit northern Vietnam, climb in Southern Thailand, and then possible head to Indonesia to surf, if there are no waves in Thailand. Hopefully we will be able to handle the heat!!! Bangkok was suffocating, so hopefully the other cities won't be as bad!!

Despite the few discomforts of traveling, we're having a wonderful time. It is so fascinating to see how different Asian culture is. The people are so amazingly kind. And the food has been wonderful!

Congrats to all the new babies, houses, and everything else exciting that's happening!

Post-Op

Welcome to the blog Jacee! It's good to hear from you! It's been a LONG time!!! I just wanted to let everyone know that Jake's surgery went great! It took about 2 hours for them to go in and reattach his retina. He was down for a few days, which was tough because boys are babies when it comes to pain, but he's good now. The doctor said that they need to touch up his other eye in about 2 weeks. Luckily with that one, they can do it with a laser, so it won't be a major surgery. I'm just glad they caught it and didn't go blind. Anyway, that's all I've got. I just wanted to update you with our situation.

Well friends, it sounds like things are going great! This blog thing is pretty cool!! It is so awesome to hear from everyone! Thanks again Karen. Okay so things have been great lately. I have some news, well first, I don't know if I have told you guys already, but we are building a house in Syracuse!! We are really excited! Things are going great and we plan to move at the end of the summer! The new house has four bedrooms, which should be perfect for the new addition to the family! I'm Prego!! I'm due in December and I don't know what it is yet! It will be crazy because Bode will only be one and a half! However, I can't wait! It will be so fun! Well that's the latest in the Pedersen Family. Besides that Bode just turned one on Sunday, Karri Sheppard moved into my ward in Roy and we hangout about everyday, Clint has been working on finishing the basement, and I clean and clean and still can't keep the house clean! So that is about all! Hope all is well! Love ya

Hey amigas!

Well, better a late blogger than never . . . right? Well, I wish I had some pictures to share right now, but we can't find our camera. We're still looking though.

Congrats to the Firths and Kathryn!

I guess I should give an update on what's going on in my life. So, I'm going to summer school right now at UVSC. I work there too in the Aviation Marketing department as a Marketing Representative. I guess one cool thing about work is that I'm going on a business trip to Wisconsin at the end of July. We're going to market our online degree program at the biggest air show in the world. It's going to be hot, but it will be fun.

I'm planning to graduate in April next year. Kris should be done in 2 years. Something exciting about UVSC, for those of you who don't know, is that it's becoming a University next year. Kris has been involved with a lot of the transition committees. He was elected student body president and gets to associate with a lot of neat people. It's an exciting time to be here and see all the changes.

We just moved to Orem on May 22nd. We live on 1200 W. in between the Orem, Center st. exit and UVSC. You can see our apartment from the freeway. We like it so far. It's been nice to be so close to work and school and not have to drive 45 min. to get there.

That's about it for now! I hope everything is going well with all of you!

More good news!

Well, the Firths have decided we like to make life crazy...I got engaged last night! I am marrying Roger Gardner on October 3rd. Yes, I'm getting married three weeks after Meg and yes, my mom has been in tears for a week. :) Just a little bit about him... we were a blind date back before Christmas, he's turning 26 in a couple months, he just graduated in Business Management, and he's perfect. Okay, okay so I'm biased. Anyway, I wanted to tell everyone the fun news! Here is a picture of him and I on Easter. I hope you all can make it to both weddings!

2 Months of building

2 months ago tomorrow I posted a picture of my BEAUTIFUL hole that our house would eventually be built in! Well...here's the update on what's happened in 2 months! A LOT!!! Bryce and I go there about 2 or 3 times a week just to see how much has changed! It really has been a neat experience watching it change from day to day. You will see from the picture that a window is missing! The window was ordered wrong so we had to order a new one! Our 2 garage doors were also ordered wrong! Pretty stupid I know, but not much we can do about it! We now have 3 extra windows (2 were ordered and then we decided against them). So if anyone needs a window just let me know! :) Also...the front door will not stay that stark white! It will change to a color (red maybe?!) Our projected move in date is the beginning of August. So 4 months to build...not too bad! It really has been awesome! I'll definitely have to have an ending of summer party or something! Our next adventure is in about 2 weeks where we'll be having an amazing time at Lake Powell (my very favorite vacation spot). I'm excited to just be with my fam for a week! Other than that not much is new! (I guess building a house is new every day though huh?! My life isn't as dull as I think it is!) YAY!!!!!

Family in Vegas

Well, this last week, my family made the trip to come visit. My mom and dad, sister, brother-in-law and two nieces. It was a blast. We went to the Celine Dion concert for my birthday and it was a blast. It was so artistic and visually stimulating. It was way better than I expected. Claire sure had fun with her cousins! She gets along great with them and it is so cute.

Exciting news...

Hey everyone! I've been so bad at checking this becuase we didn't have the internet all last semester. When I finally checked it I couldn't believe all the new babies, engagements and fun news! Also I forgot my password so I had to have Karen help me figure out how to log in again. OLIVIA! You are an amazing artist, where do you live, what are you doing??

So I finally finished dental hygiene school and this summer I am finishing my last 2 classes to get my degree from the U. I'm going to work as a hygienist, so I'll never need my degree from the U- but since I just had 2 classes left, I thought I might as well. Ty just finished law school from BYU and has a job with a firm called Latham and Watkins. We were going to move to California to work at the office in Los Angeles, but a month ago we got an email saying that they were going to hire some new people to start at offices in Europe and we applied and are moving to LONDON!! I'm so excited! We didn't think we'd get it, but we found out yesterday so we'll be moving there at the end of the summer. We committed to work there for at least 2 years. So, if anyone wants to take a trip over there- you have a free place to stay with us. I'm not kidding- PLEASE, I would love for anyone to come. I've only been to Europe once, but not to London. So if anyone's been there and has any fun ideas of things to do/see, let me know.

Well, that's it for me, I don't know how to post pictures, but one of these days I'm going to figure it out and put some on here. I hope everyone is doing wel!!!

Alaska and Murray

Hey everybody! Congrats on everyone's new engagements, pregnancies, marriages, and births! Man we are really doing a good job of multiplying and repleneshing the earth, aren't we? I haven't checked this for a couple months and I can't believe how much I missed! As for Adam and I, we just got back from and Alaskan cruise last week, and it was such a blast. It was beautiful and actually not that cold. We saw lots of beautiful glaciers and wildlife. It was a good break for us.

Marjorie Glacier in Glacier Bay

Standing on a huge snowbank in a tiny Klondike town. Population: nine
I'm sure this would be much taller in the winter!

Three bald eagles on Panic Island in Ketchikan. We saw like fifteen of them there.

Next week we are closing and moving into a twin home! We are so excited. It's small but really cute and just the perfect starter home for us. It's just around the corner from where we live right now (in Murray) so we'll be able to stay in the same ward, which we love! I can't wait. I'll have to post pictures of it after we move in.

Adam was unfortunately hospitalized on Saturday! He had extreme pain in his abdomen and was throwing up! It turned out he had a kidney stone. When he finally passed it yesterday, I coudn't believe how big it was...about the size of a grape nut. The poor boy was in so much pain and throwing up constantly for a couple of days, but he's fine now, luckily. I was just glad it wasn't anything serious!

I must brag that we also have two new additions to our family. Their names are Angel and Coco, and they are adorable little girls. Here's some pictures.

Lol, ok so maybe they're not as exciting as a baby, but we weren't allowed to have pets any bigger than that where we're living, so we got mice. All animals are fun! (don't worry, they do live in a cage.)

So we have had a lot of changes lately and it's been a crazy few weeks! Hope everybody is doing well!
